Context
- Heavy reliance on Acacia gums is unsustainable due to overharvesting and deforestation. - Synthetic excipients pose challenges of cost, biocompatibility, and environmental impact. - Uganda’s orphaned crops are resilient, underutilized, and have untapped potential for pharmaceutical applications. - This project addresses excipient supply gaps while supporting biodiversity and rural livelihoods.
